Correct Answer

Tell Me More

According to a 2016 Department of Agriculture study (latest data), households receiving SNAP spent about $782 million on fruits & vegetables in 2011, as compared to $1,201 million on sweetened drinks, desserts & candy. In comparison, households not receiving Food Stamps spent slightly more on fruits & vegetables than on sweets. These figures are based on data from supermarkets, grocery stores, and combination food and drug stores. However, they don’t include convenience stores, warehouse club stores, and specialty food stores.
