In 2022, the median household cash income of black married couples in the U.S. was $98,000. In comparison, the income of black families headed by single females was $48,000. Notably, the portion of black children living in homes with two parents declined from 67% in 1960 to 45% in 2023. Contrary to claims about “systemic racism,” virtually all income inequality between blacks and whites is attributable to marital status, educational attainment, literacy, math skills, and career choices.
