Despite a federal law banning the immigration of people "likely at any time to become a public charge" or burden on taxpayers, people who receive welfare benefits like Food Stamps, Medicaid, housing, and utility assistance are allowed to immigrate under Biden administration guidelines that ignore these forms of welfare when determining if people are a burden on taxpayers.
