Is there any evidence that any of the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop are Russian disinformation?
In 2020 after the New York Post published an article about the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop implicating Joe Biden in bribery and obstruction of justice, a group of government intelligence officials led by James Clapper (Obama's Director of National Intelligence) claimed that the contents of the laptop could be or definitely are Russian "information." However, they admitted "we do not have evidence of Russian involvement - just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case." Major media outlets then changed the phrase "Russian information" to "Russian disinformation" and widely spread this evidentially baseless claim. Moreover, the media did this without mentioning that the same officials previously spread the accusation that Trump and his team colluded with Russia in the 2016 election, a claim disproven by a $32 million investigation by an independent counsel.
