Correct Answer

Tell Me More

On December 8, 2021, the CDC published data showing that the two continental states with the lowest 7-day Covid-19 case rates are Florida & Texas. These states have banned C-19 vaccine and mask mandates and rank 21st and 28th in the nation for the portions of their populations fully vaccinated. The other 4 states - Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine, and Connecticut - have enacted vaccine mandates and rank 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for the portions of their populations who are fully vaccinated. The 7-day Covid-19 case rates in those states are currently 5 to 11 times higher than in Florida & Texas. Association does not prove causation, so this data does not demonstrate the effects of any action, but it does highlight the duplicity of politicians and media outlets who blamed high C-19 case rates in FL and TX this past summer on a lack of vaccine and mask mandates. This data also proves that current vaccine and mask mandates are nowhere close to being a cure-all for C-19.
