Since the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic, what portion of all deaths of U.S. children aged 5-14 years have involved C-19?
Since the outset of the C-19 pandemic on March 11, the National Center for Health Statistics has recorded 94 deaths involving C-19 among children aged 5-14, and 6,584 deaths from all causes in this age group. This means that 1.4% of all fatalities involved C-19, including cases where C-19 was not the primary cause. In Sweden during the Spring of 2020, C-19 vaccines were not available, schools for children aged 1-16 years remained open with no imposed class-size reductions, and masks were not required or encouraged. In February 2021, the New England Journal of Medicine published a study of Sweden's 1.95 million children who attended school during this period. It found that "no child with Covid-19 died," and 1 out of every 5,000 teachers were admitted to an ICU while infected with C-19, a rate half that of other professions.
