Correct Answer

Tell Me More

On April 7, 2021, the CDC published data showing that the Covid-19 case rate per 100,000 people over the past week is 35.6 in Arkansas, 66.4 in Texas, and 469.4 in Michigan. Michigan has one of the strictest lockdowns in the nation, but its current C-19 case rate is 7 times that of Texas and 13 times that of Arkansas. Texas ended its mask mandate on March 10, and public officials and journalists declared this would create an explosion of C-19 cases. AOC, for example, tweeted that "this endangers the entire country and beyond." Arkansas dropped its mask mandate on March 30. Association does not prove causation, so none of this demonstrates the efficacy of any action, but it does show how the cocksure pronouncements of journalists and politicians can prove to be dead wrong.
