Per a recent analysis by the Wall Street Journal: "From 1980 through 2016, 19 of the nation's more than 3,000 counties voted for the eventual president in every election. Only one of them, Washington state's Clallam County, backed President-elect Joe Biden last week. Other counties that had been bellwethers all the way back to the 1950s ended their runs by backing President Trump instead of the Democrat." These figures mean that 5% of the 20 bellwether counties that successfully predicted every presidential election winner from 1980 to 2016 voted for Joe Biden in 2020. The Wall Street Journal says these anomalous results are due to America becoming "so polarized," while others see this as evidence of electoral fraud in certain swing states.
