Compared to the other states, the Covid-19 death rate in New Jersey is 4.0 times higher than in Florida (0.045%) and is 5.1 times higher than in Texas (0.035%). Despite these facts, many media outlets have vilified the governors of the states with these low death rates while showering praise on the governors of states with the highest death rates in the nation.
