A 2016 letter from the Obama administration to the U.S. Senate states: "Between FY [fiscal year] 2010 and FY 2015 year-to-date (YTD) through July 21, 2015, 124 criminal aliens who had been released from ICE custody were subsequently charged with homicide-related crimes." Illegal immigrants who have been arrested and released under local sanctuary policies have also killed people. According to a 2013 report by the Obama Administration Department of Homeland Security, "approximately 550,000 criminal aliens convicted of crimes exit law enforcement custody every year," and this "poses a major threat to public safety."
