In 2016, 64% of high school students who graduated that year took the ACT college readiness exam. Among these students, 26% met ACT's college readiness benchmarks in all four subjects (English, reading, math, and science). By racial/ethnic group, the portion of ACT test-takers who met the college readiness benchmarks in at least three subjects ranged from 60% for Asians to 11% for African Americans.
