Over the past five years, at least five unauthorized immigrants who were arrested and released under local sanctuary policies have gone on to kill people. In addition, between October 1, 2010 and July 21, 2015, the Obama administration released 124 convicted criminal aliens who were later charged with murder-related crimes committed in the U.S. after their release and before February 2016. According to a 2013 report by the Obama Administration Department of Homeland Security, "approximately 550,000 criminal aliens convicted of crimes exit law enforcement custody every year," and this "poses a major threat to public safety."
