Historic Learning Loss
U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D–MA) claims that President Trump caused a “historic learning loss in our schools” by gutting the Department of Education.
IN FACT, the historic learning loss was caused by Covid-19 school closures that Warren supported. Here are the specifics:
- In the run-up to the Covid-19 pandemic, Democrat “hero” Anthony Fauci funded gain of function experiments on “bat coronaviruses” at Communist China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology, including a “limited” experiment to “test whether the spike protein from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses” was “capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor,” which is exactly what SARS-CoV-2 does.
- After the pandemic began, Fauci, the World Health Organization, many media outlets, and “fact checkers” greatly overstated the Covid-19 death rate, prompting mass hysteria and lockdowns.
- The lockdowns — which were championed by the left and were stricter and longer in Democrat states — destroyed more than 20 million jobs and caused multitudes of deaths through missed medical care, depression, substance abuse, anxiety, and other collateral damages.
- Warren vocally and repeatedly supported the lockdowns and school closures while calling them “necessary” and declaring that they were “critical to stop the virus” — an unscientific and deadly assertion.
- In the wake of the school closures, U.S. student performance in math and reading on the National Assessment of Educational Progress “took a sharp downturn” in 2021 to 2023 during the Biden administration — long before Trump began dismembering the Department of Education in 2025 to redirect resources from the “education bureaucracy” to “students, parents, and teachers.”
- Quantifying the long-term deadly effects of the school closures, a study published in 2020 by the journal JAMA Network Open estimated that decisions to close down U.S. elementary schools in the spring of 2020 will ultimately shorten the lives of children aged 5 to 11 by 2.5–42.1 million years in total due to the effects of “decreased educational attainment.”
- While the Trump administration was urging schools to reopen in the fall of 2020, Warren stridently insisted that doing this would be “willfully endangering our kids — and entire communities — for political gain” because schools didn’t have the “resources they need” to open “safely.”
- Yet, Sweden had already kept its schools open throughout the spring of 2020 without imposing class-size reductions and with “no quarantine” of people exposed to Covid unless they showed “symptoms of infection.” Furthermore, Covid vaccines weren’t available, and the schools didn’t mandate or even encourage students to wear masks, and thus, they were “rarely used.”
- Contrary to Warren, a study of all 1.95 million Swedish schoolchildren published by the New England Journal of Medicine found that “no child with Covid-19 died” throughout the spring of 2020, and the ICU admission rate for teachers with Covid-19 was half that of other professions.
- Instead of apologizing for her actions, Warren is blaming the consequences of them on Trump in accord with the propaganda technique of projection, one of the most effective and devious methods of mass deception.
