Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison claims that “gender-affirming care is healthcare.”

IN FACT, “gender-affirming care” is a euphemism for chemical and physical castrations, mastectomies, and other acts that maim healthy organs, disrupt natural development, and have unknown-to-unfavorable impacts on physical and mental health. Here are the specifics:

  • At least 10 studies on youth who were given puberty blockers for gender fluidity purposes found that they significantly interfere with bone development, which could cause chronic pain and fractures later in life.
  • A 2025 paper in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that “gender-affirming surgery, while beneficial in affirming gender identity, is associated with increased risk of mental health issues.”
  • A study published in 2024 by the journal Cureus “involving 56 United States healthcare organizations and over 90 million patients” found that “individuals who underwent gender-affirming surgery had a 12.12-fold higher suicide attempt risk than those who did not.”
  • A 2023 paper about transgenderizing drugs and surgeries in the journal Current Sexual Health Reports documents that “systematic reviews” have found “the risk/benefit ratio of youth gender transition ranges from unknown to unfavorable,” and “results of long-term studies of adult transgender populations failed to demonstrate convincing improvements in mental health, and some studies suggest that there are treatment-associated harms.”
  • A 2023 investigation in the British Medical Journal found that transgendering children with drugs and surgeries is not “evidence-based.”
  • A study published by The Lancet in 2021 found “no decreasing trend” in the early death rate of thousands of people who received transgenderizing hormone treatments over 5 decades at a major hospital in The Netherlands, even though the nation brags that it is one of the leading European countries for “social acceptance” of “LGBTI equality.”
  • A long-term population-based study of 324 sex-reassigned Swedes published by the journal PLoS One in 2011 found that their suicide rate was 19 times higher than the general population, even though Sweden has long been one of the most LGBTQ-friendly countries in the world.
  • A study published in 2024 by a German medical journal found that “less than 50%” of young people diagnosed with “gender identity disorders” in Germany “still had a confirmed” diagnosis five years later.
  • A study published in 2024 by the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior found that 11% of adolescents in the Northern Netherlands said they wished “to be of the opposite sex” around the age of 11, which shrunk to 4% by the age of 26, which shrunk to 0.1% who “consistently reported gender non-contentedness throughout adolescence and adulthood.”
