ICE Helping TSA
U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego (D–AZ) claims that ICE is incapable of helping TSA because TSA officers are “federally certified after months of training” and “do not” perform basic tasks like “guarding exits” at airports.
IN FACT, a 2023 TSA report on “Exit Lane Staffing” states that “TSA is responsible” for “guarding” “exit lanes” at “approximately 106 airports” and uses “nearly 1,300” “full-time equivalent” officers to carry out this task. A picture of a TSA officer doing this is shown here.
