Smith’s Prosecution of Trump

This is the latest In Fact. Click the left arrow for earlier ones.

Former Special Prosecutor Jack Smith claims it’s “absolutely ludicrous” to suggest that “politics” played a “role” in his prosecution of Donald Trump.

IN FACT, Biden’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland, hand-selected Smith to investigate Trump just 3 days after Trump announced that he was running for president. Smith then proceeded to prosecute Trump for the supposed crimes of:

  • citing data on illegal voting by non-citizens from a study conducted by Just Facts that was vetted by two PhD’s.
  • refusing to accept the claims of people who “were best positioned to know the facts,” the fallacious “trust the experts” mantra.
  • sending his supporters “to the Capitol to obstruct” the presidential “certification proceeding,” even though Trump explicitly told them to protest “peacefully and patriotically” and requested National Guard troops to keep the event safe.

Furthermore, Smith oversaw the prosecution of Republican Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and obtained a conviction that was unanimously overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court because the prosecution twisted the law.
