The White House claims that President Trump’s plan for “no taxes on tips or overtime” makes “hard work pay again” and “unleashes economic growth.”
IN FACT, such tax preferences unequally tax people with the same incomes and workloads and are effectively welfare and social engineering, not free market tax cuts. James Madison, the father of the Constitution, condemned such “unjust laws” during the Constitutional Convention.
