President Trump’s Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, claims that the “One Big Beautiful Bill gives a 15% tax cut to working Americans and families,” who “will see increased take-home pay of $10,000 per year.”
IN FACT, middle-income families barely pay that much in all federal taxes. The bill actually gives them $500 to $1,000 per year, not including “the additional debt-service costs or the macroeconomic effects of the bill.”
