PolitiFact claims that a Republican bill to reform Food Stamps “would bar increases to monthly SNAP benefits” for “inflation,” which “would in effect become cuts.”
IN FACT, the Republican bill would bar presidents from increasing SNAP benefits ABOVE the rate of food inflation, which Biden did for the first time in history. Per the Government Accountability Office, this action raised SNAP benefits by “21%” without adequate “economic analysis,” “disclosure,” or “documentation.”
