Role of DOGE
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer claims that an “unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government” because DOGE “has no authority to make spending decisions,” “shut programs down,” or “ignore federal law.”
IN FACT, DOGE hasn’t done anything of the sort. Trump consults DOGE for advice on how to cut waste and then uses his Constitutional powers to implement this advice, if he sees fit.
