Schiff v. Patel

This is the latest In Fact. Click the left arrow for earlier ones.

U.S. Senator Adam Schiff claims that “the last person you want as FBI Director is Kash Patel” because he’s “dishonest, untrustworthy, and utterly lacking in character.”

IN FACT, the DOJ Inspector General—Obama appointee Michael Horowitz—vindicated Patel and repeatedly contradicted Schiff’s claims that the DOJ and the FBI did nothing wrong in its Russian collusion probe of Trump.

Per the 2019 Horowitz Report:

  • The DOJ and FBI made “at least 17 significant errors or omissions” in the warrant applications to spy on a Trump foreign-policy adviser by using the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
  • The infamously false Steele Dossier “played a central and essential role in the FBI’s and Department’s decision to seek the FISA order.”
  • Multiple “factual assertions” in the “first FISA application were inaccurate, incomplete, or unsupported by appropriate documentation, based upon information the FBI had in its possession at the time the application was filed.”

Nearly two years earlier, Patel documented much the same in the “Nunes Memo,” which Schiff falsely claimed to be false.

In 2020, the FISA Court itself reported “violations of the government’s duty of candor in all four applications” to spy on Trump’s advisor and stated that these actions constituted “unlawful surveillance and search.”

In 2024, Schiff was still peddling the hoax that just because Robert Mueller “didn’t find proof” the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, that “doesn’t mean there wasn’t evidence of conspiracy or coordination.”

To the contrary, the Mueller Report explicitly states that they didn’t “identify evidence” of conspiracy or coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Furthermore, the Durham Report found that the accusations against Trump were “funded” and “fabricated” by Democrats and people with ties to the Russian government.
