“Zero-Emission” Vehicles
President Biden claims that he is “announcing a first-ever national goal to transition to a zero-emissions freight sector” to protect the “health of families who live and work near highways, ports, railyards, and other routes.”
IN FACT, the phrase “zero-emissions” ignores all pollutants that don’t come out of tailpipes. Manufacturing, charging, operating, and disposing of electric vehicles produces more of every major category of toxic pollutants than conventional cars.
