VP Kamala Harris claims that she and Joe Biden are “delivering for the American people” because they “capped the out-of-pocket cost of prescription medication at $2,000 a year for our seniors.”
IN FACT, seniors are paying an average of 21% more in 2024 for Medicare drug plan premiums than in 2023. This is largely because the Democrats’ $2,000 cap on out-of-pocket drug spending forces seniors who don’t use a lot of drugs to pick up the tab for those who do.
