Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D–MI) claims that she voted against the bill to fund Israel because the “American people do not support funding for war crimes—like the use of white phosphorus bombs.”

IN FACT, using white phosphorus munitions is not a war crime, and nations like Canada, France & Australia allow for their use. Per the U.S. Department of Defense, “white phosphorous” is “intended primarily for marking or illuminating a target or masking friendly force movement by creating smoke.”
