Insurance Mandates

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) wants to force insurance companies to insure people who seek coverage after they get sick, keep adults on their parents’ plans up to the age of 26, ban annual and lifetime insurance caps, and cover “essential services.”

IN FACT, every one of these mandates raises the costs of health insurance. This lowers the number of people who can afford it or places more costs on taxpayers. The only place you find free cheese is in a mousetrap.
