Obamacare Demagoguery
Calling President Trump a “demagogue,” U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I–VT) claims that “premiums for more than 20 million people on the Affordable Care Act will double or triple” “as a result of Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill.”
IN FACT, only the fraction of the premiums not paid by taxpayers will double — from an average of $74/month to $159. This is NOT due to the Big Beautiful Bill but the expiration of a Covid-era handout that provides $14,680/year in welfare to 60-year-old couples with incomes of $125,000 and unlimited assets.
