U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D–CT) claims it is “bull**it” that “Democrats and Republicans” are to blame for illegal immigration because “I wrote a bipartisan bill last year that would have stopped all asylum seekers from being released into the country,” but “Trump killed it.”
IN FACT, Murphy explicitly wrote that his bill would ensure “asylum” claims are “processed in a non-detained, non-adversarial way” and that “most asylum seekers can work immediately.” These and other provisions of his bill would have codified Biden’s open border policies, which Trump immediately ended while quickly creating the most secure border in U.S. history.
